about us
Paul has been the go-to technologist and audio guy to his circle of friends and family for as long as he can remember. When COVID shut most of the daily activities down and his cousin, Patrick, asked for advice, Acvstica was born.
Most people who’d come to me asking for advice buying components and setting their stereos up had a starting point — they had their dad’s old turntable, a beat up receiver or a set of speakers. Not Patrick. He had nothing of the sort, and needed everything; amplifier, speakers, record player. He was also a newlywed and his brief included “no exposed cables”.
Passionate about audio and dedicated to the time-consuming task of retro-engineering vintage audio consoles with the highest quality modern-day components and creature comforts while paying homage to the original aesthetics, we replace the internal components with their modern hi-fi counterparts, complete with today’s conveniences, to help you restore the beat to your favorite music.

Equipment selection can be a daunting task. There’s abundance now than ever, hundreds of seemingly good amplifiers, speakers and turntables to choose from. But it can be tough finding the right combination of components to maximize the enjoyment out of them. And along with fantastic options in each category, some incredibly poor ones.
With decades of experience, hundreds of components tested and several dozen installs, we believe we have found the perfect balance. A setup that allows us to restore buttons, knobs and switches in order to reuse them to control the new equipment; making a seamless integration a joy to use.
There’s nothing like the buttons and switches found in these old stereos. The sound they make when engaged, the tactility of them — there’s just nothing like it.
With a beautifully crafted piece that’ll surely turn into a fabulous conversation starter at home, giving way to a meaningful chat with loved ones, centering around passion, love, music and art. All of which are beautifully represented in one of our consoles, often rescued from abandonment, with a warm musical soul, loyal to the finer details that created your own love for music to begin with.
By late-2021, after spending more time in Kansas City, Paul kept finding Dan Posch when looking for vintage consoles to restore and eventually offered to modify the internals if Dan would take care of the exterior cabinet. It was a perfect match, and during 2022, Dan and Paul retrofit about 20 consoles.
In 2023, Dan partnered with Brad Graff to open a bigger store and workshop, and by 2025, there’s probably 50+ retro-engineered Acvstica Audio stereo consoles in the country.
Shortly after the new store, Vintage Source’s opening, the three partnered once more, to design and bring to market a newly built stereo console and launched a new company to run side-by-side, Relikcs Furniture.

Relikcs Furniture
If you’re interested in a new, MidCentury Modern inspired console, built from scratch out of solid woods, with the same technology package (and some tricks up its sleeves) as well as shipping to all continental US, the Relikcs Furniture Timbre might be just what you need.
